Journalism on the Internet: the other side of the truth

Journalism is the profession of communicating, for the benefit of a community. With the invention of Internet, journalistic world has had a lot of changes. Internet is a tool for the journalist, with this tool they can develop the news by way of further talking about the topic that they want to voice.

First and foremost, some people think that Internet have a weakness with “garbage” information that is upload for everyone who has access to the Web, but it depends of the situation because, according to one publication of the magazine called Revista Latina de Comunicación Social, Internet would have a defined dimensions talking about the quantity and quality of the websites, and it will be offering a professional differentiation that makes that the public find it every day, in the middle of the overflow of news, data, services, games and things that offers continuously this digital space.

For this reason, some people say that sometimes news published on Internet hasn’t a realiable source to arguing the information that it gives. Consequently, the veracity of journalism is threatened by people who don't actually engage in the profession, like bloggers.

Additionaly, in the future, the newspaper will not disappear and not as a cause of the invention of the Internet. According to the The survey of trends in the press in the world (wich presented in Brasil in June 2000), show that sales of newspapers has been increasing in twenty five of the fourty six countries studied, for this reason, the scientist say that Internet need the paper to survive.

Furthermore the information around the world moves throw the web that we use, this faster information, has a lot of benefits and profits for our society, because it’s free use, and easy share things like: science, economy and politics nowadays can be in world’s scope of knowledge, the same with the personal communication, “p2p”.

In conclusion, Internet and journalism can be complementary, because the technology made eassier the life of humanity. Journalist have the possibility to access to all type of information in order to make a good work writting news taking into account the quantity and quality of the information that they want published in the different web pages.

JOURNALISM AND INTERNET: THE TRUTH OF THAT REALITY

As a result of the invention of internet journalistic world has had a lot of changes. Internet isn’t just a tool for the journalism because it is also a factor that deteriorates in any way the information because the amount of that information is so expensive and it makes that people don't be informed completely.

The digital revolution is the main cause of the changes that the journalism suffer in the last years. As a result, people have the possibility of write like a real journalist without a professional degree. For that reason, journalists are dissapointed with people like bloggers who upload in the blogs information that sometimes is false, incomplete or isn’t from a trusted source.

Talking about the problem with the information, Internet have a downside for the garbage information, this term is given for the false information as single gossiping, and Internet haven’t a realiable source to arguing the information published. Consequently, the veracity of journalism is threatened by people who don't actually engage in the profession.

Anyway, some people consider that Internet is very important for the technological develop in journalism. Internet is consider like a resource for publish the information with new requirements and characteristics like increased speed and reduced distances, which gives rise to the phenomenon of convergence (Union between Internet and telecomunications). The result of this union is the change a traditional jorunalism to a digital journalism.

Finally, Internet and journalism have some differences but they can be complementary, because the technology made eassier the life of humanity, but it must have compliance with certain parameters for submission to achieve the preference of the reader, therefore people have a good use for Internet like a media and they know that the information published in Internet have to be truth and realiable.

TELEVISION AND RADIO: AN AMAZING INVENTIONS

Television and radio are two amazing inventions for the comunication. Radio was the first invention with sounds and voice where people could talk about anything that happened in that moment, for this reason, radio used like a media since the begining of this invention. Television was the first invention with sounds, voice and the most important thing, with pictures, this invention could be the competition for the radio, at the begining that situation was in that form, but now radio is complementary to television about transmitting information.

Television was created by many people, among them is important to highlight the work of Paul Gottlieb Nipkow who invented the Nipkow disk. Accounts of its invention state that he conceived the idea of using a spiral-perforated disk to divide a picture into a mosaic of points and lines while sitting alone at home with an oil lamp on Christmas Eve, 1883. The first telecasts used an optical-mechanical picture scanning method, the method that Nipkow had helped create with his disk; he could claim some credit for the invention. On the other hand, we have to mention the work of John Logie Baird who was inventor of the world's first working television system.

Besides, the radio was created by many people too, people like Nikola Tesla, who in 1893, gave at St. Louis, Missouri a public demonstration of "wireless" radio communication, he described too the principles of radio communication, in that case, we can see that since the beigining radio was seen as a media, the answer to a need for the humanity. Another principal creator of the radio was Alexander Popov who performed a public demonstration of transmission and reception of radio waves used for communication at the Russian Physical and Chemical Society, using his coherer: this day has since been celebrated in Russia as "Radio Day".

In this time, the problem between radio and television isn’t clearly because now exist networks like Caracol and RCN, in that radio and television are booth of the same network, but now the competition is between channel and channel, network and network respectively. Moreover, the television and radio have had a technological changes in recent years, it makes people have more opportunity to access information and they can choose and they can choose where to log in. Sometimes, we can see that old people used so much the radio because they said: “if the radio said it is because it’s true”, and other kind of people prefer television because “A picture is worth a thousand words”

But, the point is that people who prefer watch TV and people who prefer listen to the radio can be change according to the resources that both of that media have to show to the public. WE can't say that TV or radio are better one of other, but we can say and decide by the media that provide better information and logically entertainment. Is our work help to the media will be better.
